The Deputation of A Coruña promotes the hiring of professionals in the tourist offices of the councils

The Tourism area allocates € 800,000 for the program for municipalities with less than 50,000 inhabitants. Professionalization of the sector is one of the objectives of the Department of Tourism of the County Council of A Coruña, which allocates 800,000 to promote new recruitment of personnel from tourist offices of municipalities with less than 50,000 inhabitants.

The County Council of A Coruña finances the remuneration of the technical personnel for the tourism offices of municipalities or groups of municipalities of less than 50,000 inhabitants, for a minimum period of 4 months, coinciding with the high tourist season. For this purpose, the Tourism area allocates € 800,000 aimed at hiring specialized personnel to keep the tourist offices open at least four months in high season. “This line is a fundamental axis of the management of the Department of Tourism of the County Council of A Coruña since, on the one hand, it contributes to the employability of people with training in the sector and, on the other, is essential when it comes to professionalizing tourist care, with recruitment of specialized people, “said the responsible deputy of the Tourism Department, Xosé Regueira.
 
According to the deputy of Tourism, with this line aimed at the municipalities that provides up to € 20,000 per request, will be “to materialize new contracts that will benefit the tourist planning and extend the period of attention to people who visit the territory of A Coruña.” The baremation criteria for the applications will include the total number of accommodation in the tourist establishments of the municipality or group of municipalities, the capacity to cover the tourist demand, which means the existence of differentiated tourist information offices and an area or service of its headquarters in the municipality with assigned personnel, among others, or the tourist interest and the planned maintenance.
 
The line of the Tourism area will revert to the creation of jobs in the tourist sector, one of the objectives in which the department that directs in the Deputation of A Coruña, Xosé Regueira. The personnel who choose the vacancies of the councils must be in possession of the titles of technical superior in Guide, Information and Tourist Assistance, Tourism, technician in Companies and Tourist Activities or degree and Degree in History of the Art, Humanities, Geography and Ordenación of the Territory or History. In the following link you can consult the complete bases of the call: http://bop.dicoruna.es/bopportal/publicado/2019/01/09/2019_0000000112.html
