18 establishments on the Costa da Morte will offer menus and dishes based on local zero-kilometre gastronomy, which can be enjoyed during the weekends from October to December.

The official presentation event of the campaign took place in the kitchen classroom of the Comprado de Abastos, with a showcooking by the chef Braulio García from the Centro Superior de Hostelería de Galicia.

Yesterday, the official presentation of the campaign “Months with R, a safe bet” took place in the Mercado de Abastos of Santiago de Compostela, with an event organised by the Association of Tourism Professionals of Costa da Morte (APTCM), which brought together a variety of personalities from the hospitality sector of the Costa da Morte and representatives of different public administrations.

The campaign “Months with R, Safe Bet” has the support of the Department of the Sea, Agader and Tourism of Galicia and aims to promote the local zero kilometre gastronomy of the Costa da Morte, during the weekends of the months of October, November and December, a season when seafood is at its best. Diners will be able to taste menus or dishes based on local gastronomy, mainly fish and seafood from the Costa da Morte fish markets, as well as produce from the market garden.

This initiative, promoted by APTCM and with the collaboration of CMAT, seeks to seasonalise the demand, allowing the enjoyment of seasonal products outside the summer months and highlighting the richness of the products of the Costa da Morte.

In this presentation event in the Plaza de Abastos, intervened:

  • Damián Álvarez (Secretary of APTCM)
  • Antonio Basanta (Director Geral de Pesca, Acuicultura e Innovación Tecnológica)
  • Alfredo Fernández Ríos (Deputy Director of Land Mobility of AGADER)
