It is one of the oldest pazos in Galicia, built in the first half of the sixteenth century by the Hidalgo Gómez de Rioboo Vilardefrancos, in the place where it is located a fortress was built that was destroyed by the Catholic Monarchs. Today they are converted into an Interpretation Centre of the Tourist and Heritage Resources of the Territory of the Costa da Morte.
