CMAT and APTCM present the new tourism website for “Costa da Morte” and the digital version of the book Costa da Morte, Confín de Europa

On June 2nd, at the Parador da Costa da Morte in Muxía, the Costa da Morte Tourism Association (CMAT) presented two key initiatives to promote the destination: the launch of its new official tourism website and the digital edition of the book Costa da Morte, Confín de Europa. The event gathered representatives from the Provincial Council, Galicia Tourism Agency, and local stakeholders.

Costa da Morte Tourism Association (CMAT) and the Professional Tourism Association of Costa da Morte (APTCM), joined by Turismo de Galicia and the Provincial Council of A Coruña, presented this morning at the Parador da Costa da Morte the new official website for the destination. The event also included the unveiling of the digital version and translation of the emblematic book by Xan Fernández Carrera, Costa da Morte, Confín de Europa, as well as the publication of the new Craft Guide for Costa da Morte.

The event brought together over 60 attendees, including institutional representatives from all member municipalities, as well as professionals from the tourism and cultural sectors. The official opening was led by Mr. Manuel Muíño, President of CMAT and Mayor of Zas, who thanked all attendees for their presence in Muxía.

Mr. Pepe Formoso (APTCM) then highlighted the importance of joint work among all members, leaving aside individualism, and emphasized the role of the new website as the main promotional platform for the destination. He also introduced the digital edition and translation of Costa da Morte, Confín de Europa, a key work to understand the identity of this Atlantic region.

Institutional presentations also included speeches from Mr. Xosé Regueira, Vice President of the Provincial Council of A Coruña, who underlined “craftsmanship as a unique value of the territory” and encouraged artisans to take advantage of tourism-related opportunities to continue growing; and Mr. Xosé Merelles, Director of the Galician Tourism Agency, who acknowledged the steady growth of the tourism sector in Costa da Morte and praised the collaboration between institutions.

María Lema, Vice President of CMAT, also addressed the audience to highlight the work done with local artisans and the importance of craftsmanship as a differentiating factor for the future of tourism in Costa da Morte.

To close the event, Mr. Manuel Muíño presented the new website project (www.visitacostadamorte.com) alongside the development team — the local company WP Nordés — and took the opportunity to reflect on his term as President of CMAT, expressing gratitude for the support from his team, APTCM, and the collaboration of both provincial and regional governments.
