The Spanish Association of Scientific Tourism Experts (AECIT) has just honored the Literary Hotel Bela Fisterra with the award in the Sustainability in Tourism category “for its eco-innovative model” and for its strong commitment to the environment and local culture. This accolade once again positions Costa da Morte as a high-quality destination, where differentiation is driven by authenticity, respect for the territory, and the creation of value-added experiences.
The credit has a name: Pepe Formoso, the driving force and alma mater of the project, has spent years proving that it is possible to run an accommodation with an integrated vision —environmental, cultural, and social— that inspires travelers and leaves a positive footprint on the destination. Under his leadership, Bela Fisterra has become a space that converses with literature and the ocean, cares for resources, promotes local talent, and invites visitors to discover Fisterra and Costa da Morte in a calm, respectful, and memorable way.
AECIT’s recognition —in the second edition of its awards— also highlights the path of a sector moving toward responsible innovation. At the same ceremony, held at the Sa Riera building of the UIB (Universitat de les Illes Balears), other prizes were presented that complete the picture of a tourism with a future: Innovation in Tourism for Anysolution; Health and Wellness Tourism for Balneario de Archena; Tourism Communication for Nexotur; and the Lifetime Achievement Award for Juan Cabrera Rodríguez (Molí d’es Comte).
From CMAT, we congratulate Pepe Formoso and the Bela Fisterra team on this achievement, which strengthens our territory’s key message: Costa da Morte means quality, identity, and sustainability made real. A destination built day by day thanks to professionals who, like Pepe, put heart, talent, and commitment at the service of an exemplary tourism experience.
