“A Costa da Morte. Naturalmente única”: the book that tells who we are is now within your reach

If you love the Costa da Morte, now you have the perfect reason to fall in love with it all over again: the book “A Costa da Morte. Naturalmente única”, promoted by APTCM with funding from the Xunta de Galicia, was presented at an event that brought together much of the institutional and tourism community of the Costa da Morte and where both the printed edition and the digital version of this landmark publication for the destination were unveiled.

Costa da Morte Asociación Turística (CMAT) is delighted to present “A Costa da Morte. Naturalmente única”, a publication promoted by APTCM, CMAT’s member representing the private sector, and developed thanks to the financial support of the Xunta de Galicia. This book is designed to showcase and organise the tourist resources of the Costa da Morte, strengthening cooperation between public administrations, tourism professionals and local organisations. More than just a guide, it is a collective tribute to a territory that combines strength, identity and hospitality in equal measure.

The launch event was attended by many mayors from the municipalities of the Costa da Morte, as well as by the boards of CMAT and APTCM, led by their respective presidents. The main guest was the Director of Tourism of Galicia, Xosé Manuel Merelles, the key financial driving force behind the project, who highlighted the importance of having well-crafted tourism products that tell the story of the Costa da Morte in an authentic way and reflect its unique character as a destination.

The book, published in Galician, Spanish and English, highlights the landscape, culture and heritage of the 17 municipalities that make up the Costa da Morte tourist destination, through texts by Xan Fernández Carrera and photographs by Antonio Fernández. Page after page, it invites readers to explore the area at a slow pace: lighthouses and cliffs, fishing towns, historic paths, living traditions, wide ocean-facing beaches and unique natural spaces that make the Costa da Morte a different, authentic destination and, as its title states, naturally unique.

As part of this same project funded by the Xunta de Galicia, the complete digitalisation of the book was also presented during the event, and the digital version will be available on the CMAT website. This represents a key step in the strategy to provide the Costa da Morte destination portal with genuine, high-quality content designed to drive qualified traffic to the site. This commitment to original content, closely linked to the territory and its people, aims to strengthen the positioning of the CMAT website as a benchmark for a high-quality tourist destination, sustainable, well-presented and where every visit to the site feels like a small journey through the Costa da Morte.

The book will be available in libraries across the Costa da Morte and in all APTCM member businesses, becoming a useful tool both for visitors and for local residents who wish to get to know their own land better. With the joint support of APTCM, CMAT and the Xunta de Galicia, “A Costa da Morte. Naturalmente única” stands as a key piece to keep building, together, the Costa da Morte brand as an authentic, inspiring and high-quality destination.
