The San Xoán Herbs activity in Dumbría will take place on Tuesday, 23 June at 11:00 a.m., departing from the O Conco facilities. The event revives one of the most cherished traditions associated with this special night: gathering the plants used to prepare San Xoán water.
During the walk, participants will discover and collect different herbs linked to Galician folk tradition. The plants are left in water overnight, which is then traditionally used to wash the face the following morning. This custom has been passed down through generations and is closely connected to nature, culture and popular beliefs.
San Xoán Herbs is organised by the Concello de Dumbría as an opportunity to share local knowledge, enjoy a walk together and keep alive a tradition that forms part of the area’s collective memory.
