On May 3rd, the Association for the Ecological Defense of Galicia (ADEGA), in collaboration with the Zas Town Council, is organizing an open day at the Carballeira de Baio to introduce one of its most emblematic environmental volunteering programs: “Proxecto Ríos. Join the current!”. The activity will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and is open to anyone interested.
The event will begin at Praza Jorge Mira Pérez with a welcome session at 10:30 a.m. Afterwards, ADEGA representatives will present the Proxecto Ríos, explaining its purpose and the activities included in the program. The open day will continue with a guided visit to the Río Grande, passing through the Carballeira, where participants will assess the water quality and observe the state of the riverside ecosystem. The location was chosen for its rich biodiversity, excellent conservation, and easy accessibility—making it one of the region’s most valuable natural areas.
The Proxecto Ríos, supported by the Zas Town Council, will continue throughout the year with regular environmental monitoring. Participation in the activity is free of charge, but prior registration is required via the following form: https://forms.gle/2yxNzu4PZ9wGpRHUA
