Libres!!!, by Teatro del Barrio, comes to FIOT 2026 in Carballo as part of the Programa de Sala and in its Galician premiere. Written by Esther F. Carrodeguas and directed by Andrés Lima, the production brings the stories of libertarian women who challenged the social and political conventions of their time to the stage through a contemporary, musical and combative theatrical language.
The production approaches this legacy without turning it into a conventional history lesson. Humour, music, cabaret and irreverence create a bridge between past and present, celebrating women who fought to claim spaces of autonomy and freedom in a social order designed to deny them both.
Libres!!! is driven by ensemble energy and the force of live performance. Laughter does not soften the subject: it becomes a critical tool, a form of resistance and a way of restoring voices that remained outside official histories for far too long.
The cast brings together Alba Flores, Laura Galán, Nüll García and Eva Valdelomar in a piece combining acting, music and biting humour. The performance takes place on Saturday 17 October 2026 at 8:00 pm at the Auditorio Pazo da Cultura in Carballo.
