LaxEntroido 2026 in Laxe brings a festive Carnival atmosphere with parades, music, and community fun. The main celebration takes place on Saturday, February 14, with a full afternoon program, followed by the traditional events dedicated to Don Caietano later in the month.
On February 14, at 5:30 pm, the Carnival Parade and “Comparsas” begins, opened by Don Caietano and animated by Batucada de Mareas Vivas, Grupo de Gaitas Maruxía de Laxe, and Grupo Catasol. At 6:30 pm, the Carnival & Comparsas Party continues at the Laxe Sports Pavilion with inflatable attractions, dancing, photocall, music, filloas, and free hot chocolate, with the same groups also leading the closing moments of the party.
The program also includes the 5th Participatory Carnival Contest, with comparsa prizes of €250 (1st), €150 (2nd), and €100 (3rd), intended to be spent in local hospitality and shops. On Friday, February 20 at 12:00 pm, there will be the Wake for Don Caietano in front of the Town Hall, and on Saturday, February 21 at 6:00 pm, a Wake and Comic Mass at Praza dos Voluntarios, followed by a Farewell Parade with Charanga Santa Compaña to the Ramón Juega area and the silent burning of Don Caietano.
