Fisterra is already warming up the drums for the most traditional Entroido (Galician Carnival) on the Costa da Morte, with a programme made for the streets: costumes, laughter, and that unmistakable local “retranca”. In 2026 there will be nearly €6,000 in prizes across several contests, so it’s the perfect excuse to get your friends, family, or troupe together and join in.
The big street day is the groups and comparsas parade on Saturday, 14 February, with live musical entertainment and a finish in the main square with the Entroido 2026 opening speech (pregón). There will also be music through the streets during the morning, and the night wraps up down at the harbour with a mobile disco. The Town Council will set up a marquee to support the celebration.
On Sunday, 15 February, the children’s and adults’ costume contest takes place in Praza da Constitución (individual, couples, and groups), followed at 8:00 pm by the social Entroido dance at Mercado Cultural. On Monday, 16 February there will be an all-afternoon mask workshop at the municipal library, and on Tuesday, 17 February at 6:00 pm the comparsas contest will be held in the sports hall, hosted by Mariola Martínez and Santi Caneta.
