The Camariñas Town Council (Concello de Camariñas) has released a six-day Carnival programme spread across several parishes, with something for every age: community meals, music, children’s events, workshops and two major comparsa gatherings. A week to enjoy the streets, local tradition and a strong festive atmosphere.
ANPA O Areal Carnival Party Date: Friday, 13 February Time: 5:00 pm Venue: Víctor Vigo Sports Hall Description: The programme kicks off with a Carnival party to start the celebrations on a high note.
Free community meal with music and DJ Date: Saturday, 14 February Time: 5:00 pm Venue: Campo do Allo Description: A free meal with music and a DJ set by Disco Móvil Héctor.
Cocido and dinner dance in Camelle Date: Saturday, 14 February Time: 9:00 pm Venue: Campo do Santo (Camelle) Description: Organised by the Camelle Festival Committee with support from the Town Council.
Comparsas parade and contest in Ponte do Porto Date: Sunday, 15 February Time: 12:30 pm (arrival at the seafront promenade) Venue: Ponte do Porto Seafront Promenade Description: Prizes of €500 (1st), €300 (2nd) and €200 (3rd). Each participant also receives €10.
Costume party and Carnival tasting in Xaviña Date: Sunday, 15 February Time: 5:00 pm Venue: Xaviña Description: Organised by Asociación Abrindo Rejo and the Town Council, featuring costumes and typical Carnival treats.
Children’s Carnival party in Camelle Date: Monday, 16 February Time: 5:00 pm Venue: Campo do Santo (Camelle) Description: A children’s event organised by Folja da Faneca.
Comparsas contest in Camariñas Date: Tuesday, 17 February Time: 12:00 pm Venue: Market Square (rain location: Víctor Vigo Sports Hall) Description: Prizes of €800 (1st), €600 (2nd) and €300 (3rd). Each participant also receives €10.
Children’s party and costume contest in Camariñas Date: Tuesday, 17 February Time: 5:00 pm Venue: Víctor Vigo Sports Hall Description: An afternoon with inflatables, karaoke, workshops, sports games, food, a DJ, and the costume contest.
Burial of the Sardine Date: Wednesday, 18 February Time: (not specified) Venue: Casa de Pedra Description: Traditional closing event, with music by DJ Save and Charanga Os Atrevidos.
Across Camariñas and its parishes, Carnival becomes a day-by-day celebration—parades, prizes, music and family plans included. Choose your favourites (or do them all), put on your costume and enjoy one of the liveliest weeks of the year.
