Ictus (anatomía de “A derradeira leición” de Castelao), by Chévere, is part of the Programa de Sala at FIOT 2026 in Carballo. The award-winning Galician company turns historical memory, identity and the very act of remembering into compelling theatrical material.
The starting point is A derradeira leición do mestre, Castelao’s iconic work and one of the most powerful images in Galicia’s political and emotional memory. Chévere uses it to build a documentary-theatre piece where collective memory, personal experience and urgent questions about how societies construct the past all meet on stage.
The production combines ideas, emotion and contemporary stage language without reducing memory to a fixed message. Ictus invites the audience into a theatrical investigation in which history is viewed from the present and remembering also means questioning, revisiting and looking again.
The performance takes place on Saturday 3 October 2026 at 8:00 pm at the Auditorio Pazo da Cultura in Carballo. It is a strong choice for audiences interested in contemporary theatre with a clear artistic voice, rigorous dramaturgy and a perspective that is both deeply Galician and universal.
