Carnota celebrates the 2026 Festa das Dolores with several days of live music, local traditions, religious celebrations and lively evening parties. The programme takes place on 15, 18 and 19 September 2026, bringing together orchestras, a mobile disco, traditional street music, games and events in honour of Our Lady of Sorrows.
One of Carnota’s traditional September celebrations returns with activities for all ages, mainly around Praza de San Gregorio and the town centre.
At 12:00, a solemn Mass in honour of Our Lady of Sorrows will take place, accompanied by singer Loli Corcubión and the traditional bagpipe group Longarela.
From 22:45, the celebrations continue with a major evening party featuring Disco Móbil Fabrik and Orquesta Atenas.
The day begins with a traditional street parade by Longarela de Louro. At 13:00, a solemn Mass in honour of Our Lady of Sorrows will be sung by the Coral Polifónica Mar de Ardora from ESMU Carnota.
This will be followed by a vermouth session with Orquesta Alaska. At 17:00, traditional games will take place in Praza de San Gregorio.
In the evening, the festivities return with a major party featuring Orquesta Alaska and Disco Móbil Fabrik. At 01:00, the traditional raffle draw will also take place.
The Festa das Dolores combines local devotion, popular music, Galician traditions and the atmosphere of a classic summer-end verbena in the heart of Carnota. It is a great opportunity to experience one of the traditional festivals of the Costa da Morte.
