From Costa da Morte Tourist Association, we are pleased to invite you to the Costa da Morte Craftsmanship Day on Thursday, November 28th, at 10:30 am, taking place at the Stoupa Gallery in Cee. This event aims to highlight the work of local artisans and foster synergies between the tourism business sector and artisans in our region. The activity will consist of two workshops covering the following topics:
Workshop 1.- “Pottery Wheel Demonstration from Buño”: led by Xosé Gorín Moreira, head of the Gorín Workshop in Buño, showcasing Buño pottery as the craft with the most history in Costa da Morte. The workshop will emphasize the production process (design, decoration, drying, firing, etc.) of Buño’s clay pieces from their creation to their market release.
Workshop 2.- “Craftsmanship in Hospitality”: creation of tailored decorative proposals and exhibition of wooden, ceramic, basketry, and textile pieces by Costa da Morte artisans (Nano Unzueta, O Rulo, Alberto Lista, Gorín, Trenzarte…). These artisans specialize in furniture, tableware, ornamental pieces, and other elements for use in the hospitality and catering sectors linked to local tourism.
The activity is free of charge and aimed at all hospitality and catering businesses that make up the Costa da Morte tourism sector. It will take place at 10:30 am at the Stoupa Gallery (Rúa Campo do Sacramento, 23, Bajo B, 15270, Cee.
