Espiñeirido Beach in Muxía will host a new environmental volunteering day on Saturday 10 October, bringing people together to remove litter from the beach and its surroundings. The initiative is open to residents, visitors and anyone committed to protecting the Costa da Morte coastline, combining hands-on marine conservation with awareness of plastic pollution.
For insurance coverage, volunteers must register in advance and provide their first name, surname and ID number. Registration is available by email at info@mardefabula.gal or by phone at 660 242 118.
This collaborative clean-up highlights one of today’s major environmental challenges: the continuing flow of plastic waste into rivers, seas and oceans. Taking part helps reduce the immediate impact on coastal ecosystems while promoting prevention, responsible consumption and better waste management.
The activity is organised together with Asociación Muxianas de Fóra and will receive logistical support from Muxía Town Council. It is a practical opportunity to care for Espiñeirido as a community, learn more about this stretch of coastline and turn environmental awareness into direct action.
Think globally, act locally. The waste may not be ours, but the planet is.
