On Saturday 24 October 2026 at 8:30 pm, Casa da Cultura in Cee will host «A música que nos une, os camiños que nos xuntan» (‘The Music That Unites Us, the Paths That Bring Us Together’), a narrated concert by Icía Varela, from Malpica, and Japanese musician Haruna Chatani. The performance marks the close of the 13th O Mes da Fundación cultural programme organised by the Fernando Blanco de Lema Foundation. Admission is free.
Two musical traditions come together through the Galician tambourine (pandeireta) and the Japanese koto, a traditional plucked-string instrument. Blending live performance with commentary, the artists invite audiences to discover unexpected connections between the sounds, stories and cultural heritage of Galicia and Japan.
This event brings the 13th edition of Cee’s cultural programme to a close. Through concerts, educational activities and the performing arts, O Mes da Fundación offers opportunities for local audiences and visitors to engage with culture in Costa da Morte. The evening celebrates music’s ability to create connections across borders.
