Escora Danza Costa da Morte

The fifth edition of Escora Danza Costa da Morte will begin on Saturday, 6 June in Vimianzo and will also visit the municipalities of Corcubión, Malpica de Bergantiños and Mazaricos. Promoted by the Culture Department of the Provincial Council of A Coruña, the cycle brings together contemporary dance, traditional music, international stage creation and a strong connection with the territory.

This new edition focuses on cultural mediation, social participation and the diversity of bodies, ages and ways of understanding dance. Escora offers an accessible, community-based programme, bringing the art of movement to different places across the Costa da Morte.

• Saturday 6 June, Vimianzo: the Casa da Cultura will host the opening event from 6:30 p.m., featuring the Coros de Cereixo and Carnés together with the dance of Eva Comesaña. The programme will also include Ma p’tite dame, by French creator Claire Heggen, in her first performance in Galicia. Free admission until full capacity is reached.
• Sunday 7 June, Corcubión: programme featuring Ouveo, by Mikel Aristegui, Son libre, by Mikel Aristegui and Clara López Villar, and the presentation of As pegadas do baile, by Artur Puga.
• Saturday 13 June, Malpica de Bergantiños: the harbour will host SO-FA(R) FROM ME, an aerial performance by the company Martaalonsotejada, and O. Que todo volva comezar, by AC Raigañas, directed by Rut Balbís.
• Sunday 14 June, Mazaricos: the fairground in A Picota will host Traktor, performed with local residents from Mazaricos, directed and choreographed by Anuska Fernández and featuring Yas Deluaces; and A noite do cuco, by Jandross Rodríguez. The day will close with a DJ session by WG83.

Escora Danza Costa da Morte is an opportunity to experience dance as a living, open and shared language, capable of creating bonds between artists, local communities, associations and municipalities.
