The Feira das Letras in Baio will take place from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 May, offering a lively weekend of books, culture, music, shopping, food and street entertainment. Bringing together Baio ten a pelota and the local book fair, this event will turn Baio into a welcoming meeting point for readers, families and visitors looking to enjoy the town at its liveliest.
Throughout the event, local shops will offer discounts of up to 20%, from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 21:00, while a tapas route will run from 12:00 to 16:00 and from 19:00 to 23:00. Most activities will take place in Praza Jorge Mira, with the exception of the brass bands and street parades, which will move through the streets of Baio, adding music and festive energy to the town centre.
The programme includes book presentations such as “Begoña Caamaño”, “Gorrións e Falcóns” and “O mapa da túa sexualidade”, a historical memory gathering about repression and Francoism in the Costa da Morte, a screening of the film “San Simón”, children’s activities with a climbing wall, zip line and inflatables, and performances by Os Celtas, Churía and AC Adro, Os Atrevidos and the Mago Antón. A warm, festive and cultural weekend to enjoy Baio through books, local trade and gastronomy.
