The Seniors Festival 2026 in Muxía will be held on 23 May, offering a special day dedicated to honouring the town’s older residents through a programme centred on togetherness, tradition and a warm festive atmosphere. It is one of those events built around community spirit and appreciation, recognising a generation that forms an essential part of Muxía’s living memory. It will also be a wonderful opportunity to share a meal, music and celebration in a welcoming setting.
The programme will begin at 12:00 pm with a sung mass by the Virxe da Barca Polyphonic Choir at the Sanctuary of Nosa Señora da Barca. At 1:00 pm, there will be a performance by “Xaramiños do Corpiño” and entry to the Municipal Pavilion, while lunch will begin at 2:00 pm, with access to the venue from 1:30 pm. After the meal, the celebration will continue with dancing and live music by Grupo Alba, bringing a festive close to a very special day.
The Seniors Festival 2026 in Muxía includes a meal featuring octopus and pie, among other dishes, and is aimed at residents over the age of 65 and registered pensioners. Registration is open until 19 May at the town hall, and a ID card must be shown to collect the ticket at the ground floor Social Services office of the Town Hall. A celebration designed to enjoy, reconnect and strengthen community ties on the Costa da Morte.
