The Regional School Cross Country Event in Dumbría will take place on Thursday, 9 April at the municipal sports facilities of O Conco. The event is organised by the Secretaría Xeral para o Deporte in collaboration with the Concello de Dumbría, A.D. Escolar As Rías and A.D.D. do Barbanza, bringing together students from several schools across the region for a day focused on school sport and healthy competition.
Pupils will compete in the benjamin, alevin, infantil and cadete categories, in both male and female divisions. Around 700 runners are expected to take part, with races starting from 11:00 am. The event will be held in a natural setting behind the sports facilities at O Conco, an ideal environment for cross country running and a practical location thanks to the nearby changing rooms, technical office, sports hall and café.
The Regional School Cross Country Event will make Dumbría a meeting point for youth sport, promoting healthy physical activity in an educational setting through a discipline with a long tradition in Galicia. Participating schools include CPI As Revoltas, CEIP do Pindo, CEIP do Mar de Fóra, CEIP Ponte do Porto, CEIP San Vicenzo, CEIP Virxe da Barca, IES Terra de Xallas, CEIP Plurilingüe Carnota and IES Eduardo Pondal.
