Holy Week in Vimianzo is a great opportunity to discover the municipality’s heritage, craftsmanship and history through a special programme designed for all audiences. From March 28 to April 5, the Castle of Vimianzo will become one of the main attractions, with a schedule that combines live craftsmanship, exhibitions, dramatised visits and guided tours to some of the area’s most remarkable sites.
During these days, visitors will be able to see artisans working with wheat and rye straw, silver, Murano glass, pottery, model boats, bobbin lace, linen and the craftwork linked to Aspadex. In addition, on March 28 the castle will host the opening of the exhibition Unha xoia, unha flor, by Esther Ferreiro, adding even more appeal to a programme that invites travellers to experience Holy Week in Vimianzo through culture, tradition and local identity.
The programme also includes dramatised visits inside the castle and guided tours to such special places as Batáns e Muíños do Mosquetín, Dolmen de Casa dos Mouros, Dolmen de Pedra Cuberta, Castro das Barreiras and Porto de Cereixo. It is an excellent plan for anyone wishing to enjoy the essence of Vimianzo during Holy Week while exploring some of its most valuable historical and ethnographic landmarks.
Useful information: the Castle of Vimianzo is closed on Mondays. Dramatised visits are available until full capacity is reached, guided visits are limited to 25 people per tour, and all activities are free of charge.
