Carballo Carnival 2026 is all about taking the celebration to the streets: parades, live music, kids’ activities, neighbourhood parties and two must-see highlights —the Costume, Comparsas and Floats Parade & Contest and the traditional Burial of the Sardine. Carnival “ruada” in Oza Date:Saturday, 7 February Time:9:00 pm Venue:Oza Community Centre Description: A lively Carnival street celebration organised by Escola do Alprende.
Live music at the main square: Cé Orquestra Pantasma Date:Friday, 13 February Time:6:30 pm Venue:Town Hall Square (Praza do Concello) Description: Music to kick off the Carnival weekend in the heart of Carballo.
Street music: Brassica Rapa Date:Friday, 13 February Time:8:00 pm Venue:Carballo streets Description: A roaming band bringing Carnival vibes through town.
A Milagrosa Carnival Party: “Renacemento do Chorón” Date:Saturday, 14 February Venue:Correndoira da Asturiana (Rúa José M.ª Castroviejo), A Milagrosa Description: Neighbourhood party featuring vermouth session (1:00 pm), DJ party (4:00 pm–2:00 am) and the “Chorón” procession (6:00 pm).
Parade with Charanga Santa Compaña Date:Sunday, 15 February Time:5:30 pm Venue:Town Hall Square & Carballo streets Description: Brass band parade to set the tone for the main contest day.
Costume, comparsas & floats contest and parade Date:Sunday, 15 February Time:6:00 pm Venue:Town Hall Square (Praza do Concello) Description: The flagship event of Carballo Carnival 2026, hosted by Lupe Blanco. Over €10,000 in prizes.
Costume dance with Dúo Veneguay Date:Sunday, 15 February Time:8:30 pm Venue:Town Hall Square Description: Live music to keep the celebration going after the contest.
Kids’ Carnival party & workshops Date:Monday, 16 February Time:5:30–7:30 pm Venue:Town Hall Square Description: Family-friendly afternoon with DJ music, games and activities.
