The Antón Zapata García Municipal Library in Laxe will host, on Friday, October 31st at 7:30 p.m., the presentation of the illustrated book “Coralia e Maruxa” by Cari Ca, published by the Deputación da Coruña. The book pays tribute to the strength and spirit of the legendary Fandiño sisters, known as The Marías of Compostela.
Through colorful and expressive illustrations, the author tells the moving story of two women who, despite hardship, turned their daily walks through Santiago de Compostela into a symbol of freedom, joy, and resilience. Their story remains an emblem of courage and individuality in Galician culture.
This event is an invitation to celebrate art, memory, and the enduring power of women who dared to live on their own terms — a touching tribute that will captivate readers of all ages.
