The 1st Sardine Gastronomic Festival debuts in Malpica de Bergantiños on Saturday, August 2, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, at the Area Maior Beach Promenade (in front of Bar Océano). Organized by AC Campal, this event spotlights local sardine cuisine through tastings, live cooking demos, and traditional recipes.
Attendees can savor sardine toasts, pies, and skewers, paired with artisanal bread and local wines, while mastering preparation techniques using fresh catch from the ria. The seaside setting enhances the experience, making the Sardine Festival a one-of-a-kind culinary celebration on the Costa da Morte.
Admission is free. Early arrival is recommended to sample all dishes and sign up for hands-on workshops. AC Campal and Malpica Town Council ensure seamless organization, with background music and shaded areas for families.
