From July 24 to 26, the parish of A Ameixenda celebrates its major festivities in honor of Santiago Apóstol. The program includes live music, religious ceremonies, and parades, making it one of the most important summer events in Costa da Morte.
The celebrations begin Thursday with performances by the band La Bamba and the Super Fabrik mobile disco. On Friday, the Banda Ateneo de Negreira and the Costa da Morte Polyphonic Choir perform, followed by an evening show with Lupe.
Saturday marks the main day with a solemn procession for the Holy Sacrament, a traditional parade by the Peta Forte bagpipe group, and a spectacular party with Los Coleguitas, CDC disco, and another performance by Lupe.
