Ondas Culturais | Son de aquí comes to Sofán with an evening combining local heritage, community memory and live music. On Thursday, 20 August 2026, the surroundings of San Salvador parish church will host a guided visit followed by a free concert by Manu Sija.
The free guided visit starts at 8:00 pm. Through local figures such as the bagpiper Evaristo, the village’s traditional tambourine players and the martyrs of Sofán, the route will explore the history of the parish and the evolution of musical expression in Sofán and the surrounding area.
Advance registration is required for the guided visit. Participation is free and limited to 25 places.
The concert begins at 8:30 pm, with free admission. Argentine musician Manu Sija is one of the most innovative names in contemporary South American jazz. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist and composer, he blends modern jazz, Argentine folk music and live electronic experimentation.
Using violin, bass, guitar, bandoneon, keyboards, percussion and live looping, Manu Sija creates rich, organic soundscapes in real time. It is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy an adventurous concert in a setting full of local character.
