May, Month of Galician Letters 2025 in City Council of Zas

The City Council of Zas presents a new edition of “May, Month of Letters”, a comprehensive cultural program dedicated to promoting Galician literature, music, theater, and traditions. From book presentations to children’s performances, including tributes to traditional female singers (cantareiras), this event offers activities for all audiences.

Highlights of the program:

• Book presentations: Works such as “Cantareiras” by Ida e X.M. Varela and “AI for Society” by Fina Paulos-Manuel Rey.
• Children’s activities: Storytelling sessions like “Contos para andar o camiño” in municipal libraries.
• Music and dance: Concerts by Paco Nogueiras and García MC, and the dance performance “Velaiquich amoorch” by D’Elas.
• Theater: The VIII Amateur Theater Show Labarta Pose, featuring plays like “Segredos de Familia e licor café”.
• Tribute to the cantareiras: Honoring key figures of Galician oral poetry, such as Adolfina and Rosa Casás Rama.
• Bookmark contest: Aimed at schoolchildren, with prizes that encourage creativity and reading.
