The Eclipse Outreach Day 2026 – Costa da Morte will take place on Tuesday, 12 May 2026 at the Auditorium of the Caión Sociocommunity Centre, in A Laracha, under the slogan “Galicia, gateway to the eclipse”. This event is specially designed to help the area prepare for an astronomical phenomenon of great interest and to strengthen the role of Costa da Morte within Galicia’s Starlight destinations.
The aim of this event is to provide the tourism sector and the local press of Costa da Morte with useful tools to communicate, interpret and experience the eclipse with accuracy, safety and professionalism. The programme includes content on basic astronomy, safe observation, eclipse photography and a practical session on eclipse photography and solar observation, making the morning a highly complete training experience.
The event is coordinated by Costa da Morte Asociación Turística (CMAT) and promoted by the Axencia Turismo de Galicia for Galicia’s Starlight destinations. Capacity is limited to 50 people in order to ensure the quality of the training and the proper development of the practical sessions.
