From October 23–25, Baio hosts the 5th Fouciño Awards, a cinema festival distributing €1,800 in prizes. The program mixes competitive and non-competitive short film screenings with fun workshops and live music.
The festival opens Thursday, October 23, with Pura by Carmen Méndez (Mestre Mateo winner 2025), followed by a director’s Q&A. On Friday the 24th, four diverse short films (“Delincuente,” “O Coidado,” “Abellón,” and “La casa de la abuela”) will screen, capped by a concert from Sofi Peries and a film-themed karaoke.
Saturday the 25th features a daytime vermouth session with an animated workshop short and “Un peixe é un peixe é un peixe” (Marilar Alexandre & Alberto Pombo), then finalist screenings, and finally the closing party with performances by Antía Muíño, Ulex, 9Louro, and Tonita.
