Camelle turns once again to the sea through music with the 3rd Festival Coral da Canción Mariñeira, a choral gathering devoted to ensemble singing and repertoire inspired by Galicia’s maritime tradition. The event will take place on Saturday, 5 September 2026 at 6:00 pm at the Casa do Museo do Alemán in Camelle, in the municipality of Camariñas.
Four choirs from different parts of Galicia will come together in a setting closely connected to the maritime and cultural identity of the Costa da Morte. The programme offers an opportunity to enjoy collective voices, harmonies and songs that evoke the sea, the memory of coastal communities and a musical tradition that remains very much alive.
The variety of participating ensembles makes the festival a meeting point for Galician choral music, with particular emphasis on maritime songs and repertoires that connect music, place and collective memory.
The setting gives the festival a distinctive character. Camelle has a deep relationship with the Atlantic and with the artistic legacy of Man of Camelle, and holding the concert beside the Casa do Museo do Alemán places the choirs in one of the village’s most recognisable cultural spaces.
The 3rd Maritime Song Choral Festival in Camelle is a particularly appealing event for visitors interested in discovering the musical culture of the Costa da Morte through an intimate celebration closely tied to the Atlantic landscape.
