Laxe, a sea of sensations. One of the advantages of our town hall is that it is located in the heart of the Costa da Morte, just 65 km from the nearest cities, Santiago de Compostela and A Coruña. This geographical fact, added to the good road communications, makes all the tourist resources of the Costa da Morte accessible in a short time for those who decide to spend their rest with us.
But the Municipality of Laxe is much more: an impressive and unique nature that invites us to enjoy the sea and the mountains, through its rich variety of beaches, lagoons, fauna and flora or the Penedos de Traba, one of the few protected landscapes in Galicia.
In addition to this nature that impresses those who visit it, we can also enjoy an outstanding cultural heritage that ranges from dolmens such as A Fornela dos Mouros, to churches such as the Church of Santa María de la Atalaya de Laxe or Santiago de Traba, declared BIC de Galicia, beautiful pazos such as Soesto or the Casa del Arco de Laxe, ethnographic resources, traditional stone houses…
To all this, we should add our Museum of the Sea, in which the Vidal Photographic Archive is preserved, graphic testimony of the collective history of the Costa da Morte.
A rich variety of sports activities in contact with nature (hiking, sailing, surfing, fishing…), together with festivals and unique cultural activities (the shipwreck, Easter, the craft exhibition…) complete a destination like ours: accessible, diverse and open to all those who wish to enjoy a different kind of rest. Laxe, a sea of sensations, for all audiences.
