On Saturday, 22 August 2026, from 1:00 pm, the sports court in A Imende, Noicela (Carballo), hosts the 26th Festa do Berberecho, one of the municipality’s longest-running food festivals and an event closely connected with the maritime culture of the Baldaio coast.
Cockles take centre stage, with around one tonne of cockles served either steamed or in sauce. A traditional octopus stand, drinks and live music round out a day that brings together local seafood, popular Galician cooking and a lively festive atmosphere.
The Festa do Berberecho attracts around 3,000 people each year and has become one of Carballo’s most established gastronomic celebrations. It is a great opportunity to taste one of Galicia’s most characteristic shellfish products close to the Baldaio shoreline.
The event is part of the Ondas Culturais 2026 programme.
