Caión celebrates its Xornada do Mar on Saturday 8 August 2026 at the harbour, bringing together competition, local food and music in one of A Laracha’s liveliest seaside settings. From 12:00, Porto de Caión becomes a meeting point for locals, visitors and families looking for a cheerful summer day on the Costa da Morte.
The traditional carrilanchas race will be one of the main attractions, with prizes for the winners, alongside a popular mussel feast with mussels and barbecue. There will also be a greasy-pole challenge and DJ sessions to keep the festive atmosphere going throughout the day by the sea.
Xornada do Mar is a great reason to visit Caión, enjoy the harbour area and experience a celebration closely connected to the town’s maritime character. Registration for the race is available through the QR code shown on the event poster.
