Active Summer 2026 in Zas offers a varied programme of cultural, sporting, educational and leisure activities for children, young people, adults and families. Throughout July and August, different locations across the municipality will host events designed to encourage residents and visitors to enjoy their free time, discover the local heritage and share new experiences.
The summer programme promotes healthy, accessible and inclusive leisure while providing activities that help families balance work and childcare commitments. It includes outdoor events, live music, sport, camps, excursions and cultural initiatives at the Torres do Allo, Brandomil Bridge, the municipal swimming pools and other locations in Zas and Baio.
Active Summer 2026 Programme in Zas
- Friday, 3 July – Fishing School: activity led by David Arcay at the Baio fishing reserve from 10:00 a.m. It is intended for underage participants who do not hold a fishing licence. Advance registration is required.
- Saturday, 4 July – Children’s Party: from 4:00 p.m. at the Zas football ground and municipal swimming pool, featuring inflatable attractions, water slides, a foam party and a variety of recreational activities.
- Saturday, 4 July – Music at the Towers: performance by Boroa at the Torres do Allo from 8:00 p.m. The event is suitable for families and the general public.
- Saturday, 11 July – Café Concert: performance by the Airas Nunes Chamber Ensemble at the Torres do Allo at 7:00 p.m.
- Saturdays, 11 and 18 July, and 1 August – Summer Walks: three routes exploring different parts of the municipality. Advance registration is compulsory for every walk.
- Saturday, 18 July – Concert at the Bridge: performance by Lorelia at Brandomil Bridge from 10:00 p.m.
- Sunday, 19 July – Bicycle Day: departure at 10:30 a.m. from the Town Hall Square. Helmets are compulsory and advance registration is required.
- 20 to 31 July – Urban Camp: camp for children born between 2010 and 2014, including group activities, games, dance, parkour and other forms of active recreation. It will take place at the Zas Sociocultural Centre from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The fee is €10 and registration is required.
- 3 to 7 August – Cultural Week: a programme featuring music, comedy performances, cinema, exhibitions and workshops for different audiences.
- Thursday, 13 August – Astronomical Observation: activity led by Jorge Mira, including a night walk of approximately two kilometres. Departure is scheduled for 10:00 p.m. and advance registration is required.
- Wednesday, 19 August – Aquapark Excursion: activity for children born between 2008 and 2017. The €10 fee includes transport. Departure will be at 10:00 a.m. from Zas and at 10:15 a.m. from Baio.
- Saturday, 29 August – Cova do Lobo Night Trail: sporting event featuring a night trail, a children’s trail and a night walk. Registration will be available through the Empa-t website.
- Sunday, 30 August – San Ramón Market: the Torres do Allo will host a market with a vermouth session featuring Charanga Benofan and a children’s concert by Brais das Hortas.
- Sunday, 30 August – 35th Zas Town Council Football Trophy: competition at the San Andrés Municipal Football Ground from 6:00 p.m.
Activities Throughout the Summer
The municipal swimming pools will offer swimming courses for all ages. The activities will be free for holders of a swimming pool membership card, although advance registration is required.
The Torres do Allo will also maintain a regular programme throughout July and August, including dramatised tours, the Escape Room do Allo and the temporary exhibition “Zas en Romaría”. Further information and registrations are available from Zas Town Council by calling 981 751 398.
