Over the December bank holiday, Vimianzo is offering a full programme of guided tours to explore its rich historical and natural heritage. Between 5 and 8 December, visitors will be able to discover the impressive Castle of Vimianzo —with live traditional crafts—, visit ancient dolmens, explore the unique Port of Cereixo, the Muíños e Batáns do Mosquetín (old mills and fulling houses) and the Castro das Barreiras, an important Iron Age hillfort.
The guided tours for the December bank holiday in Vimianzo are suitable for all ages and help visitors understand the history of the Costa da Morte from many different angles: megalithic archaeology, defensive architecture, seafaring traditions and rural heritage linked to water mills and textile production. It is an ideal plan for slow, meaningful tourism in close contact with the territory.
The programme also includes special astrotourism sessions called “Procurando estrelas” (Looking for Stars), held in privileged locations such as Monte de San Bartolo and the Furna do Sapo viewpoint. Detailed information, schedules and booking forms are available on the local tourism website, and places are limited. All activities are free of charge, making this the perfect opportunity to discover Vimianzo with expert guides.
