9th “Labarta Pose” Amateur Theatre Showcase 2026 in Zas

The Municipality of Zas has opened the registration period for the 9th “Labarta Pose” Amateur Theatre Showcase 2026 in Zas, a well-established cultural event and a key meeting point for Galician-language amateur theatre in Costa da Morte. Theatre companies interested in taking part may submit their proposals until April 20, 2026, in accordance with the official rules approved by the council. This showcase was created to encourage stage production, support amateur theatre groups and continue giving visibility to performances staged in the Galician language.

The programme for the 9th “Labarta Pose” Amateur Theatre Showcase 2026 in Zas will take place on Saturdays, May 23 and 30, and June 6, 13 and 20, with performances shared between the Zas Auditorium and the Baio Sociocultural Centre Auditorium. The event will close on June 27 with the awards and distinction ceremony. One of the main new features this year is that the selected companies will receive a fee of 800 euros per performance, in addition to financial support for transport costs calculated from the company’s registered headquarters to the venue of the performance.

This call is open to all legally established Galician amateur theatre companies or groups presenting plays in the Galician language. Each group may submit several productions, although only one may be selected. At the end of the showcase, honorary distinctions will be awarded to the top productions, as well as acting recognitions and a special mention for the audience’s favourite play, chosen through public voting after each performance.
