On Saturday, 29 August 2026, Porto de Corcubión will host the 25th Jesús Elorza Sailing Schools Gathering, a well-established dinghy sailing event on the Costa da Morte organised by Cataventos Escola de Vela.
The day will bring sailing schools and competitors together for Optimist-class and multi-class regattas, turning the Corcubión estuary into a meeting point for sailing, competition and the area’s strong maritime atmosphere.
Now in its 25th edition, the Jesús Elorza Sailing Schools Gathering has become one of the area’s longest-running sailing events. Its format combines the training spirit of grassroots sailing with the participation of different classes, encouraging shared experience between schools, crews and sailing enthusiasts.
The event is supported by the Deputación da Coruña, together with the Real Federación Galega de Vela and Club Marítimo Carrumeiro.
It is a great opportunity to visit the port of Corcubión and experience a day of sailing in one of the Costa da Morte’s most maritime settings.
