This year, CMAT \u2013 Costa da Morte Tourism Association is expanding its tourism development initiatives by organising a programme of eight guided experiences in the days leading up to the 6th Costa da Morte Tourism Meeting, scheduled for Tuesday 17 November at the Parador Costa da Morte in Mux\u00eda.<\/p>\n

The programme, taking place over the weekend of 13, 14 and 15 November, aims to offer new opportunities to discover and experience the area from different perspectives, introducing local residents and visitors to some of its most distinctive attractions with the guidance of professionals and experts in nature, heritage, seafaring culture, crafts and astrotourism.<\/p>\n

This programme will precede the 6th Costa da Morte Tourism Meeting on Tuesday 17 November at the Parador Costa da Morte (Mux\u00eda), funded by the Galician Tourism Agency and supported by A Coru\u00f1a Provincial Council. The meeting will bring together institutional representatives, tourism professionals and organisations connected to tourism to share the work carried out and discuss the destination’s future challenges. During the meeting, journalist Xos\u00e9 Ameixeiras will receive the 4th Costa da Morte Ambassador Award, and social inclusion organisations working in the area will receive a collective tribute.<\/p>\n

Eight ways to discover the region<\/h2>\n

The programme, organised by CMAT with the support of A Coru\u00f1a Provincial Council, will begin on Friday 13 November with a visit to the Malpica fish market for Asociaci\u00f3n \u00cdntegro, an activity designed to introduce participants to fishing from an inclusive perspective. That same afternoon, at 7:00 pm, an astrotourism session with Virxinia Barros at the Alto da Vela viewpoint in Camari\u00f1as will explore the stars, mythology and the historical relationship between the night sky and navigation.<\/p>\n

Saturday 14 November will focus on crafts and heritage. At 11:00 am, participants will be able to visit the workshop and house museum of ceramic artist Nacho Porto in Carnota. At 12:00 pm, a guided visit to the former Caneli\u00f1as whaling factory in Cee will explore the history of an industry that shaped the lives of many local families. In the afternoon, at 4:00 pm, Tania Carreira will lead a tour of Brandomil’s historical and archaeological heritage in Zas, including the Ponte Vella bridge, the hillfort and the remains of the Roman domus at Pedra do Altar.<\/p>\n

The programme will conclude on Sunday 15 November with three activities. At 10:00 am, an eight-kilometre walk along the Senda do Xallas in Mazaricos will reveal the natural richness of the surroundings. At 12:00 pm, A Laracha will host a botanical walk with a tasting of wild foods led by Sabores Espont\u00e1neos. Finally, at 4:30 pm, Suso Lista, a goose barnacle harvester and writer, will guide a visit to Cape Roncudo in Ponteceso, offering first-hand insight into goose barnacle harvesting and the seafaring culture of Corme.<\/p>\n

Places are limited, so advance booking is required through the form on the Costa da Morte tourism website. Interested participants can check the times, meeting points and conditions for each activity on the Costa da Morte experiences page<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This programme of activities is organised by CMAT \u2013 Costa da Morte Tourism Association, under grant programme DP0030\/2026 from A Coru\u00f1a Provincial Council, supporting tourism promotion and development initiatives in the region.<\/p>\n
