The event opened with a speech by the host mayor, M\u00f3nica Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, who welcomed the attendees at a ceremony that also included representatives from the other municipalities that are members of CMAT. Afterwards, the president of CMAT and mayor of A Laracha, Jos\u00e9 Manuel L\u00f3pez<\/strong>, presented the event, underlining the importance of joint work between public administrations and companies through programmes such as SICTED, in order to continue improving the quality and professionalisation of the tourism sector in Costa da Morte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Spanish Government\u2019s sub-delegate in A Coru\u00f1a, Julio Abalde<\/strong>, also spoke during the event, highlighting the importance of providing tourism companies and organisations with the training needed to move towards a model of sustainable tourism<\/strong> capable of generating economic development in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vice-president of A Coru\u00f1a Provincial Council and deputy for Tourism, Xos\u00e9 Regueira<\/strong>, stressed the relevance of initiatives such as this one to improve municipal services and the visitor experience, noting that good tourism management is essential to generate economic activity, employment and help retain population in the territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For his part, the director of the Galician Tourism Agency, Xos\u00e9 Merelles<\/strong>, emphasised that Costa da Morte is a clear example of tourism growth, pointing out that the positive figures achieved are the result of the work being carried out in the destination through public-private collaboration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pepe Formoso<\/strong>, CMAT board member and president of APTCM, also took part in the event, sharing the perspective of the business sector. He stressed that this path is only possible through collective commitment, showing that cooperation between all stakeholders is key to moving towards a sustainable tourism model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The round of speeches was closed by Emilio Cu\u00ed\u00f1as<\/strong>, director of Autoxiro and SICTED consultant, who reviewed the programme, highlighting the level of involvement of the participating companies and the new features introduced this year with the new platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event concluded with the presentation of the SICTED diplomas and distinctions, with the participation of all institutional representatives, to a total of 33 establishments corresponding to Cycle 3 of the 2025 period<\/strong>. This recognition highlights their ongoing effort to improve the quality of tourism services in the destination: 8 hotels and tourist apartments, 2 active tourism companies, 8 rural accommodation establishments, 5 museums and visitable tourist interest centres, 2 hostels, 7 tourist information offices and 1 wellness tourism establishment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    With this initiative, Costa da Morte<\/strong> continues to move towards a sustainable tourism model based on professionalisation, cooperation between stakeholders and the promotion of its own resources. In the coming weeks, a new registration period will also be announced for organisations interested in joining the SICTED programme, together with information about the available training and the procedure to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
