Key priorities included raising awareness of our nocturnal heritage<\/strong>, mitigating light pollution, and deploying a shared strategy<\/strong> for promotion and science outreach. The aim is to turn the starry sky into a sustainable year-round asset that creates opportunities for the region<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A central topic was the renewal of the Starlight Seal<\/strong>, essential to keep the geodestination certified as a Starlight Destination<\/strong>. Cooperation between CMAT and the Astrotourism Association will coordinate actions, training, and tailored tourism products (trails, observing activities, educational experiences) to meet the growing demand for star-focused travel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting also advanced preparations for the 2026 Eclipse<\/strong>\u2014a once-in-a-generation opportunity that calls for planning, order, and clear public information. Both organisations highlighted takeaways from the 8th Starlight International Meeting in Soria<\/strong> (October), which they attended to promote Costa da Morte as a Starlight Destination<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
