The archipelago, made up of Sisarga Grande, Sisarga Chica and Malante, is one of the most distinctive seascapes along the <strong>Costa da Morte<\/strong>. Its outline can be admired from Santo Hadri\u00e1n and the Malpica coastline.<\/p>\n<p>The lighthouse was first lit in <strong>1853<\/strong>, as maritime lighting was being modernised along the Galician coast. The station was rebuilt in the early twentieth century and has operated automatically since 2002. Its exposed position speaks to the importance of guiding ships along this storm-battered shore.<\/p>\n<p>The Sisargas are also an important haven for seabirds and form part of a protected natural area. Beyond the lighthouse, the cliffs and bird colonies are a reminder to enjoy the islands without disturbing their delicate environment.<\/p>\n<p>For a sweeping view, head to <strong>Santo Hadri\u00e1n<\/strong>. Reaching the island requires a private boat, as there is no regular public ferry; from the small landing on Sisarga Grande, a path of roughly two kilometres leads towards the lighthouse.
