The bridge crosses the Rosende River, a tributary of the Anll\u00f3ns, and is especially striking because of its narrow roadway, just over two and a half metres wide, making it one of the most distinctive historic bridges in Galicia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its history is closely linked to the old communication routes of the <strong>Costa da Morte<\/strong>. Some theories place here the passage of the possible Roman road known as <em>Per loca maritima<\/em>, although the exact origin of the current bridge is still debated by specialists. Local tradition has long referred to it as the \u201cRoman bridge\u201d, but other references point to a later construction, particularly from the <strong>18th century<\/strong>, when it appeared in historic maps such as that of Tom\u00e1s L\u00f3pez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lubi\u00e1ns Bridge was part of the old <strong>royal road between A Coru\u00f1a and Fisterra<\/strong>, an essential route connecting Berganti\u00f1os, Soneira and the Fisterra area. Its structure, with asymmetrical arches, a cutwater and a humpback profile, preserves the character of traditional road engineering.
