Two battlemented towers linked by a central stone building give this manor-house the look of a small fortress, although it has mostly served as a stately residence, as described by the official entries of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.turismo.gal\/recurso\/-\/detalle\/6710\/torres-de-cereixo?ctre=36&amp;langId=en_US&amp;tp=9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Turismo de Galicia<\/a> and the local <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vimianzo.gal\/omardevimianzo\/info.php?idioma=es&amp;sec=414\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vimianzo council website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The current layout of the <strong>Torres de Cereixo<\/strong> dates mainly from the 17th century, when the Caranto\u00f1a family and other powerful Galician noble lineages transformed the former coastal stronghold into a manor with a remarkable heraldic display. Above the entrance arch there is a large stone bearing several coats of arms, where names such as Montenegro, Berm\u00fadez, Castro de Lemos, Soutomaior, Mendoza or Figueroa can be traced, turning the fa\u00e7ade into a true open-air \u201cheraldry lesson\u201d by the estuary, as highlighted in the article on the <a href=\"https:\/\/visitacostadamorte.com\/en\/post\/historic-artistic-ensemble-of-cereixo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">historic and artistic complex of Cereixo<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today it is a <strong>privately owned property that cannot be visited inside<\/strong>, but its designation as a <strong>Site of Cultural Interest (BIC)<\/strong> ensures the protection of this emblem of the Costa da Morte.
