Its quiet presence watches over village life and offers a moment of calm to travellers before they continue along the Camino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The monument rises from a <strong>square platform with four steps<\/strong> and a <strong>chamfered cubic pedestal<\/strong>, accompanied by a <strong>stone table<\/strong> beside the last step\u2014an echo of former offerings and prayers. From this base, a <strong>well-proportioned octagonal shaft<\/strong> leads the eye upwards to the sculptural heart of the cross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A <strong>Corinthian capital<\/strong> with <strong>thick, rounded acanthus leaves<\/strong> supports an <strong>octagonal cross<\/strong> with <strong>floriated finials<\/strong> and a <strong>central boss<\/strong>, a motif deeply rooted in Galician tradition. The stonework, crafted with care, bears the patina of time and the skill of generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the <strong>front<\/strong>, <strong>Christ crucified with three nails<\/strong> holds his <strong>head upright<\/strong>, crowned with thorns beneath the <strong>INRI<\/strong> cartouche; <strong>open hands<\/strong> and the <strong>right foot over the left<\/strong> intensify the scene, with the <strong>loincloth knotted to the right<\/strong>.
