Built between the <strong>17th and 18th centuries<\/strong>, it features a <strong>basilican single nave<\/strong> leading to a <strong>spacious main chapel<\/strong>, covered by a <strong>barrel vault in granite ashlar<\/strong> under the direction of master stonemason <strong>Josphe de Bar<\/strong>. The result is a balanced, light-filled space that invites contemplation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inside, two <strong>lateral chapels<\/strong> enrich the liturgical pathway and a <strong>wooden choir loft<\/strong> rises at the west end. The <strong>triumphal arch<\/strong>, a <strong>plain round arch<\/strong>, acts as a calm threshold into the main chapel, striking a measured balance between sobriety and solemnity\u2014very much in tune with the <strong>Costa da Morte<\/strong> and the spirit of the <strong>Camino<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>high altarpiece<\/strong>, firmly <strong>Baroque<\/strong>, draws the eye: a large <strong>niche<\/strong> holds the image of <strong>Santa Baia<\/strong> carrying the <strong>palm of martyrdom<\/strong>. Its composition clearly reflects the influence of <strong>Sim\u00f3n Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>\u2014with <strong>applied plaques<\/strong>, <strong>C-scroll volutes<\/strong> and <strong>fruit motifs<\/strong>\u2014adding rhythm and movement to the ensemble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll find the church <strong>in Dumbr\u00eda\u2019s town centre<\/strong>. From the <strong>Town Hall<\/strong>, take the <strong>DP-3404<\/strong> towards <strong>A Serra de Outes<\/strong> and after <strong>about 300 metres<\/strong> the church stands on the <strong>left-hand side<\/strong>.
