Set right in the town centre, at <strong>Calle Real s\/n (15123, Camari\u00f1as, A Coru\u00f1a)<\/strong>, its origins trace back to the patronage of <strong>Domingo Antonio Dom\u00ednguez Canosa<\/strong>, a local emigrant in Mexico whose donation enabled the church to be built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dating from the <strong>18th century<\/strong>, the building features a <strong>single nave<\/strong> with a <strong>wide transept covered by a groin vault<\/strong>, while the nave ends display <strong>barrel vaults<\/strong>. The <strong>main chapel<\/strong> also uses a groin vault and connects to a <strong>sacristy added in the 19th century<\/strong>. Its <strong>fa\u00e7ade<\/strong> stands out for a sculptural central bay with <strong>broken pediments, plaques and stone mouldings<\/strong>, echoing the design language associated with <strong>Sim\u00f3n Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, a leading figure of Galician Baroque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inside, the church preserves a fine ensemble of <strong>Baroque and Neoclassical altarpieces<\/strong>. The highlight is the <strong>High Altarpiece of St George (1788\u20131798)<\/strong>, <strong>Neoclassical<\/strong> in style with a <strong>sacramental layout<\/strong>, attributed to the workshop of <strong>Xos\u00e9 Ferreiro<\/strong>, a disciple of <strong>Xos\u00e9 Gambino<\/strong>.
