{"id":63156,"date":"2024-08-27T08:40:22","date_gmt":"2024-08-27T06:40:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/great-goldberg.213-199-36-195.plesk.page\/post\/archaeoloxica-de-borneiro"},"modified":"2024-09-17T19:45:45","modified_gmt":"2024-09-17T17:45:45","slug":"archaeoloxica-de-borneiro","status":"publish","type":"contenido","link":"https:\/\/visitacostadamorte.com\/en\/post\/archaeoloxica-de-borneiro","title":{"rendered":"Archaeological of Borneiro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Route: Circular<\/li>\n<li>Start\/finish point: Castro A Cid\u00e1 de Borneiro<\/li>\n<li>Length: 10 km<\/li>\n<li>Approximate duration: 4 hours<\/li>\n<li>Difficulty: Moderate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This route begins in the parking lot of the A Cid\u00e1 de Borneiro hillfort and goes up a forest track towards Monte Gont\u00f3n.<br \/>\nWe head towards the Mirador del Alto da Fernandi\u00f1a for which we link several forest tracks always turning left.<br \/>\nFrom this natural viewpoint, we can enjoy some of the most beautiful views of the Insua cove and the Anll\u00f3ns estuary.  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We descend from the viewpoint and pass by the place known as Castro or Castelo de Borneiro.<br \/>\nIt is made up of the remains of an unexcavated fort that stands out for the grandeur of its defensive system.<br \/>\nLegends say that the Moors lived there and communicated with the inhabitants of the Cid\u00e1.  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once in the place of Borneiro we recommend taking the detour to the rectory and church of San Xo\u00e1n de Borneiro.<br \/>\nDated between the s.<br \/>\nXVI and XVIII.<br \/>\nIts Baroque altarpiece is the work of the local imagination Juan Mart\u00ednez and his son Ignacio, who have other altarpieces and sculptures in several churches in the surrounding area.   <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We continue the descent to cross the AC-431 road where we find the sign for the Bri\u00f1o chapel.<br \/>\nIts origins date back to the sixteenth century, although it has been greatly retouched in the eighteenth century. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The next stop is the Dolmen Archaeological Center of Dombate.<br \/>\nThe Dolmen of Dombate, considered the cathedral of Megalithism in Galicia, is made up of seven large vertical slabs and a roof forming a polygonal chamber of 4 by 2.5 meters. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the most important characteristics of this dolmen are the polychrome rock engravings that exist on the inside of the slabs, differentiating several geometric shapes with parallel and oblique lines painted in black and red.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once we have visited the dolmen, we direct our steps to the last stop on this tour: the Castro A Cid\u00e1 de Borneiro.<br \/>\nThis is a pre-Roman settlement inhabited between the sixth century BC and the first century AD.
